The Festivities

I hope everyone who celebrated Christmas had a magnificent festive season!! I hope your loved ones brought a smile to your faces and you were spoilt with many moments of happiness. I know that for me, this year was a big one, with lots of ups and downs but it was absolutely lovely ending it on such a positive note.

My favourite part of Christmas is the people I get to spend it with, but a little bonus is the gifts! I am so incredibly grateful for what I’ve received and it is around this time of the year where I take the opportunity to just sit down and appreciate how lucky I am, because it was just by chance that I was born into the country and circumstance I am in. That’s why I also tried to do as much giving back as possible this year!

So here are the gifts that I could capture!

Splendour Recap

Splendour in the Grass 2017 was simply incredible. With an amazing line-up, great food and an unimaginably vibrant vibe. I spent three days in the Byron hinterlands exploring passions and growing as a person, along with listening to my favourite musicians perform their hearts out. It’s hard to even start to capture the essence of such a wonderful festival, but hopefully these little snippets of pure happiness can transport you to the precious hours between the 21st and 23rd of July.

NUMBER ONE : THE MUSIC

Live music is phenomenal. There is nowhere else in the world that I feel as comfortable as I do whilst in the crowd of a concert. Lucky for me, I spent these three days listening to 10+ artists a day, taking in every second. I’ve tried to nail down my favourite Splendour tracks into a little playlist, where each song is now treasurable to me, as it holds a very unique memory. Enjoy!

NUMBER THREE : BYRON

Enjoying delicious breakfasts and exploring the streets was a lovely start to the mornings, before heading off into the hills. Indulging in anything from avo smashes to chocolate and coffee macarons at 10 in the morning (thanks Byron Fresh for that one!) The sun was out and so were the people of Byron, with high spirits, the little town was buzzing with excitement. I visited some gorgeous cafes, like Mokha, where I enjoyed INCREDIBLE pumpkin bread and delicious pancakes. Along with Sunday Sustainable Bakery, handing out free love and the legendary Byron Fresh with wonderful fritters, brekkie rolls and photos below!

Thank you Byron, you were amazing.

The Earring Edit

Something I’ve really been noticing is the uprising of statement earrings and just the overall comeback of earrings in general. I feel like we were in a bit of a lull for a couple of years (or maybe it was just me?) as the styles were expensive and not too accessible but now I’m completely overwhelmed by all of the must-haves.

At the moment my two favourite earrings are my little hoops on a chain that I picked up from a market one lovely Sunday morning and my gorgeous circles with dangling tears that have a very bohemian feel.

These first two pieces seem to match the Sydney weather quite well, but I have a few finds that fit a summer outfit perfectly. My gold coins and tree of life earrings were a gift from the heavens on an impromptu visit to local markets in Shoal Bay and my new rose gold hoops, that have a small star placed on the bottom. They all remind me of travelling to some place warm and unforgettable.

Something that I (may) love more than a good accessory is a good price! So I’ve got a little wish list full of affordable pieces that are just as beautiful as the extremely overpriced ones!
